Los Angeles to Las Vegas: a nice drive, a really quick flight and always a fantastic time. Whether you’re there for business or pleasure, it always has something to offer and this weekend tic-tock's Eddie Zaratsian is out there for a bit of both. It’s much more than a weekend stay at Las Vegas’ newest, hottest hotel the Cosmopolitan. This weekend is The Event Solutions Idea Factory, the annual event created to showcase new vendors and what’s new from industry mainstays. It’s a weekend full of fabulous speakers, with a keynote from Preston Bailey and David Tutera, and seminars from Marcy Blum and Pauline Parry among others. On Monday, the weekend culminates in the Spotlight Awards where our friend Pauline will be inducted into the Event Solutions’ Industry Hall of Fame and E is up for the Creative Director of the Year Award. Pauline is truly deserving of the honor and we can’t wait to watch as she receives it. As far as E goes, it’s his first nomination and, who knows what will happen but thank you to everyone who took the time to vote and congratulations to his fellow nominees. It’s going to be a fabulous weekend.
New wedding events are popping up everywhere and this year marked the first ever event “POP the Bridal Event.” With so many bridal shows, we can’t possibly do them all but were excited about this one and are so glad that Nicole Hirsty of Cobalt Events asked tic-tock to be a POP sponsor. POP brought together some of the very best, the brightest, the fun and the unexpected for an event that brought together media sponsors The Bridal Bar and Your Wedding Day Magazine featured cakes, candy from our favorite Hollywood Candy Girls, a fashion show by Jobyna’s Bridal, Duke Photography and Jen O’ Sullivan Photography, designer Ines di Santo an appearance by My Fair Wedding’s David Tutera, Style Network’s Niecy Nash and a surprise proposal (she said yes!)
After all of the fun tic-tock had with David Tutera’s My Fair Wedding “Day of the Dead” show – it was really exciting to be invited back for the Greek themed wedding with – as David says – his “Greek Goddess bride.”
One of the things that made this project so great was the dramatic difference between the Greek and the Day of the Dead bride. Far from the deep tones and dark drama of last week’s My Fair Wedding episode. David Tutera’s vision for this week’s Grecian inspired wedding at Castle Green in Pasadena, CA featured tablescapes of lush green fern and delicate bouganvillea…lanterns and grapes. Raj Tents provided elegant tents with tasseled golden rope tiebacks and accents creating an intimate space for each of the guest tables at the reception. Glowing lanterns were hung from each corner of the octagon-shaped tents while each tent had a unique lantern hanging above the center of the table. Throughout the lawn of Eulala’s dream wedding, Living Statues created a dramatic element that really helped to make her day unique and while, of course, we could go on and on about all of the wonderful details of this day, you should tune in tonight at 10pm/9 central to David Tutera’s My Fair Wedding on WeTV and watch this Grecian wedding truly befitting a goddess.
Special thanks to Michael Segal Photography for providing us with some of the beautiful images he captured that day.
When tic-tock was approached by David Tutera’s team from his hit show My Fair Wedding to see what we could do for his Day of the Dead bride Katie, we were all too happy to oblige. It called for veeryyy early days but then, it isn’t every day that the opportunity arises to create arrangements of black Manzanita and deep deep red Black Magic Roses – to leave them dripping in votives and red Amaranthus. Let’s face it, most brides want something a little (or a lot) more traditional and even the bride who doesn’t keep so closely to tradition doesn’t typically have her heart set on something quite this dramatic. But, Katie let him do this thing and Tutera really had deep colors and drama in mind for this wedding, set at Los Angeles’ Union Station. Built in 1939, Union Station’s architecture is Spanish Revival meets Art Deco with inlaid marble walls and terra cotta floors making it the perfect place to give these Day of the Dead nuptuals a classic, vintage feel and giving this not-so-traditional bride a wedding more beautiful than she had ever imagined. Watch David Tutera’s vision for Katie’s dream come to life this Sunday, August 15th at 10pm (9 central) on WeTV.

Last night was the annual Summer Evening at LACMA soiree. It’s one of tic-tock's favorite events that we do every year. It’s a casual, low-key, easy summer sort of thing with art activities for children, live music and barbeque picnic dinner. Guests also have access to private viewings of LACMA exhibits. On this year’s agenda were John Baldessari: Pure Beauty, EATLACMA: The Fruit of LACMA and the European Art Galleries. So many of the events that we do are formal that it’s a lot of fun to do something loose like this. For this year’s event to celebrate summer – we ordered thousands of Sunflower blooms. It was incredible when the truck showed up with our delivery and everyone went to look. The shoppe filled with bright bright color and we’ve had such a great time working with them this week that the shoppe almost felt a little empty when they were gone – en route to LACMA’s Summer Evening…it’s okay though. As the Sunflowers set off for LACMA, We had fresh things arriving for this weekend’s wedding at The St. Regis Monarch Beach with another of our favorites, David Tutera. Stay tuned…
